Town: Buxted, England
Girls Journeying Together groups: Buxted, East Sussex

I am not currently offering Girls Journeying Together groups, please return to the map to find another group facilitator.

In my Girls Journeying Together groups I offer the girls the opportunity to explore important issues about growing up in a friendly, safe and nurturing environment. They are encouraged to be themselves, have fun and ask lots of questions so they can start the journey into womanhood feeling that they have some of the tools needed to handle the challenges they may encounter along the way.

The transition into adulthood can be tricky and Girls Journeying Together groups are a great way of giving girls the chance to discuss and reflect on issues before they experience them. They are encouraged to develop resilience and become well equipped to navigate this period of their lives. The groups are practical, creative and often funny! Over the course of the year, the girls develop a solid foundation from which they can start the transition into womanhood as strong, kind and self-assured young women.

My own daughter belongs to a Girls Journeying Together group and I’ve been so impressed by her experience and the way in which a wide range of important issues have been explored with sensitivity. I also benefitted from the support for the mothers that runs alongside the girls’ group. As a result, I decided to train as a facilitator so that more girls and their families can gain from this experience.

A bit about me: I love spending time with family and friends, travelling, reggae and am a wannabe baker. I am also a BACP accredited psychodynamic counsellor and have been working with young people in schools since 2003. I have a lot of experience of supporting teenagers with a wide variety of issues.

Please get in touch if you’d like more information about my groups or me.
