Girls Journeying Together Facilitator
Town: Cambridge, UK
Girls Journeying Together groups: Cambridge
I offer a safe space encouraging girls to authentically be themselves and become aware of the beauty of their own unique quirks and talents. Together we create an environment for the girls to connect deeply with who they are. During the groups we slow down, to be curious, giggle, be supportive, dream wildly and….. who knows what else the moment will bring? The girls can create solid friendships and learn how to support each other as well as supporting themselves; together we create magic in action.
The teenage years are a precious time where young girls can have a lot of energy and emotional upheaval; this can be overwhelming for both parents and daughters! I help girls to honour this phase, creating space for them to pay attention to their inner life and also helping them to navigate the modern landscape of adolescence with a little more ease.
My own daughter joined a Girls Journeying Together group with Kim McCabe in 2016. Seeing the subtle changes in her over the year and the invaluable friendships she made (alongside the support I received from the mothers’ circle) inspired me to train as a facilitator so that I can share this gift with others.
A bit more about me: I am a mother of two, which is my most important, most fulfilling and most challenging job. I’m a vipassana meditator and am deeply passionate about social justice causes, having worked with women in prisons and detention centres. I love circus (especially hula-hooping), singing and DJ-ing roots reggae alongside my work as a Chartered Accountant. I am committed to making my groups inclusive, accessible and welcoming to girls from all different backgrounds.
